Hande Büyükatlı was born in 1981 in Istanbul. She graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Industrial Design in 2003. She worked as a designer in a private firm between 2004-2007. She attended Marmara University Production Management and Marketing Master's Program in 2005 and 2006, but left unfinished. She has been working as a research assistant at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramic and Glass Design since 2007. She completed her master's degree in 2009, which she started in MSGSÜ Institute of Social Sciences Ceramic Program in 2006. She left her doctorate study in MSGSU Institute of Science, Industrial Design Program, which she started in 2010, in 2014 and enrolled in the Proficiency in Art Program at the Institute of Fine Arts. She took both the proficiency in art and the doctorate proficiency exams and was found successful. Her thesis research continues, examining the interaction between creativity and game in art and design education. She participated in various national and international group exhibitions. She presented papers in various national and international symposiums.
